New Malden, a London suburb, is home to the largest population of North Korean defectors outside of the Korean Peninsula. ‘The Traces Left Behind’ seeks to document the rituals of a spectrum of Defectors from seniors to the emerging youth, creating a visual testimony of the traces and rituals they cherish and which shape who they are and how they connect to their cultural heritage.
